Racial Injustice?
Racial Injustice - unfair treatment : a situation in which the rights of a person or a group of people are ignored. This injustice sorely based of the Racial Background of an individual.
How did this all begin?
Racial Injustice can be seen as a slippery slope. A disease that has infected our society. With the current cases of Police Brutality being an effect of ongoing Racial Injustice. The Black Lives Matter Movement was prompted in response to this violence. This all started with the untimely death of Trayvon Martin. Trayvon Martin was a seventeen-year-old African American child who was shot and killed by twenty-eight-year-old George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch coordinator who tailed martin after racially profiling him. Soon after he was acquitted of charges. From there similar cases began popping up. From Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, to Michael Brown. More than one hundred African American males have been killed by police in 2015.
