My Thoughts on this Topic
From a very young age my parents and family kept me very aware to the world around me. This led me to see how people of different races my be treated in our society. When news broke out of Trayvon Martin and the entire Black Lives Matter movement I knew it was the kind of work I would find interesting. When diving deeper I was able to learn how the color of ones skin can become even evidence itself of ones guilty status and can warrant a harsh sentence. So do I believe that Racial Injustice exists in our society? Yes yes I do. From George Zimmerman facing no repercussions to Brock Turner only being sentenced 3 months it is evident that there is some kind of bias within our society.
